I&amp;#39;m reasonably confident that no one with more than a cup of coffee can beat Mr. Coffee&amp;#39;s career .978 on 361/369 (this is from memory; correct me if I&amp;#39;m wrong), and more remarkable than that is that if Joe D had quit a year earlier, he&amp;#39;d have hung it up w/ a HR/K of &amp;gt; 1. The catcher on that team had a pretty good ratio, too. Needless to say, Ryan Howard need not apply.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5554256078924292106/8804434011949112173/comments/default/8246968667128966495'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5554256078924292106/8804434011949112173/comments/default/8246968667128966495'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://charlesapril.com/2009/02/what-they-missed-out-on-in-old-saybrook.html?showComment=1235587080000#c8246968667128966495' title=''/><author><name>cheeseblab</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/06933247202378695543</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://charlesapril.com/2009/02/what-they-missed-out-on-in-old-saybrook.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5554256078924292106.post-8804434011949112173' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5554256078924292106/posts/default/8804434011949112173' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1976888599'/></entry></feed>
